With a group, your job today is to play the card game Democrazy. This is supposed to be a simulation of how democracy works. Do you think it's fair and accurate?
After learning the rules, set up the game and play as many rounds of it as you can during the class period.
- Who in your group got their laws passed more than the other people?
- Who generally failed to get their laws passed?
- What sort of laws passed? What sort of laws failed? Did you see a pattern to this?
- Did you form alliances with any other players?
- What is it that makes one person succeed and another person fail? Is it their personality, dumb luck, or maybe something else?
