What we're talking about

Canada has a lot of odd, unusual and interesting events in its history.

For this assignment you are going to research one of the events on the right. You are then going to create a small graphic novel that explains what happened. You'll try to bring out several things including:
  1. What is the main event?
  2. Why did it matter then and why does it matter now?
  3. What's the context to this event?

The Details

  1. As you create your novel, you should start with some good solid research. Keep your notes.
  2. Create a storyboard to roughly lay out what you're going to do.
  3. Your graphic novel should be at least 8 pages with an average of 4 panels per page.
  4. It should be colored.
  5. We should be able to figure out who the characters are that you draw.
  6. Since this is a novel and not a report, there should be a clear and advancing storyline.
  7. Your novel should draw conclusions about the characters or events. What do we learn?

The Topics

What can your project be about?

The main thing is that there should be an interesting and engaging story that lends itself to a visual form of story telling.

There's a list of Project Topics here. If you don't like any of them you can do something else, but you should get it approved by me first.
